Thank you for your interest in being a member of the Tennessee State Employees Association! We are THE voice for Tennessee’s state and higher education employees.
TSEA is solely funded by the dues of our members. Our mission is to encourage the development and maintenance of an effective and efficient workforce for the state government in Tennessee. We work every day to protect employee rights and lobby for improved pay, benefits and working conditions for Tennessee’s state and higher education employees.
What Does TSEA Do?
Government Impact
TSEA builds support at the Tennessee General Assembly for state and higher education employees and works with your legislators to advance legislation that positively impacts the lives of active and retired Tennessee state and higher education employees. TSEA also works administratively with the Governor and his administration to highlight and solve state-wide issues and inequities that arise in the workplace. Legal Services
TSEA provides our members access to a Legal Services team to answer questions about job-related issues and to guide employees through the appeal process when needed. We also employ a full-time staff attorney to represent members in employee disciplinary actions in Step 3 of the Appeal Process for qualifying cases.
Compensation & Benefits
Our Compensation and Benefits staff work closely with our members on issues involving pay, classification, overtime, compensatory time, insurance benefits, worker’s compensation, retirement/pre-retirement counseling, attendance and leave issues, sick leave bank benefits, working-out-of-class appeals, and many other work-related challenges.
